Previous Projects

In the summer of 2009 Into China collaborated with Qinglai School and organised the first International Summer English School for Honghe Prefecture students aged 4-18. This took place at Qinglai School in July and August 2009. Together with forty three participants from Britain / British Universities, we demonstrated new techniques and succeeded in improving the local students’ (mainly newbie and beginners) English through fun ways of teaching, using only English.

Initially, some parents and some of the local teachers had difficulty imagining how their kids could learn English from teachers who were banned from using Chinese in lessons. But a month later, they told us that their kids have improved more than what they normally can by learning English at their schools in half a year or a year, and have requested that we go back next year.

Many thanks to the forty three contributors (you can see them in the photo gallery - link on the menu bar) from Britain / British Universities. Thanks are also due to OCEP for their support on this project too.
