About Mile and Qinglai School:

Mile is a large town/small city located in the south east of Yunnan Province, 143 km from the provincial capital of Kunming.

Qinglai School is funded and supported by a local business, the Honghe Group, as a charitable private school. It is a fee-paying school (a very low fee) with an extensive range of scholarships and assisted places.

Only a few years old, Qinglai School is located in a county called Mile (pronounced like ‘Mee-lur’ in English) in Yunnan province. It comprises four ‘departments’ - a primary school, a junior middle school, a senior middle school, and a vocational school.

Look at the pictures… It’s hard to believe that it is a school. Many would think it looks more like a holiday resort. Surrounded by hills, Qinglai School has four footballs fields, two volleyball courts, two in-door basketball courts, several out-door basketball courts, and an out-door swimming pool with professional diving boards. These will ensure you get some good exercise during your summer holiday here! The three man-made lakes are now home to wild birds, and you can always have a nice walk in the extensive grounds (over 300,000 square metres), sunbathe on the lakeside beaches, or simply enjoy watching the sun set.
